Athletics Day

High Jump

On the 19th of November 2019, we did our Athletics day. My favourite event was high jump because Demetrius and I were the only people standing and we both jumped 1.13 meters. But the jump I did before that, instead of landing on the platform, I landed on the red things on the left of the high jump. It hurt but luckily I made it over. I also made over 1.13 metres. I knew that I was going to the zones.

House Relays

That was my most favourite part of the Athletics. It was fun because the Pukeko middle school's team ran first and we won the first round. I knew that we were going to come third place, I think Kea came first place, Ruru came second and Tui came last which was sad. That's all. Bye Bye bloggers.

Pacific Mamas

Introduction
When? When the bell rings in the morning.
where? Corbans Estate.
Who? The whole middle school.
How? on a bus.
Why? So we can learn about other Pacific cultures.
What? drumming, Leis

Aloha every one, I am TJ and I went with Te Ana Ako and Haumia to the Carbon's Estate to learn about how were drumming used in the past, how to say hello in  different cultures like Tongan, Fijian, Samoan, Hawaiian and many more. There were two workshops which was drumming and making leis. In the drumming workshop, there had to be like about ten  people taking turns with adults at drumming on the long logs, and the shark drum. And in work shop number two, we got to make our own leis, but you have to follow the same pattern which is flower, straw, flower, straw, flower, straw. And finally, we all came together to listen to the story, and we danced. We listened to a Hawaiian story. When we saw the bus, that means that we are leaving the Corbans Estate, and going back to school. Did you know that you don't just use drum's and drum sticks for music, you can also use it to send messages. Later bloggers.
