My Procedural Text

How to write a procedural text.

Kia ora everyone, this is another blog post about how to write a procedural text. A few weeks ago, we did this with our Deputy Principal, Miss McGrath. She told us what to do to write a good, procedural text. When she was finished talking, we went on our chrome books, got onto writing page of our site, and wrote on a Google Drawing. After I've finished a few week later, we then had to write our Procedural text on a google document, with a diagram. After showing my Procedural text to my friend, I then showed it to my teacher, but I needed to change a few sentences because they didn't make sense when you followed them exactly. If you want to know how to make a procedural text, then read the sentences down the bottom.

  • Write the title of what the game your playing is.
  • Type in how many people can play.
  • Write the equipment you need.
  • And write your steps with bossy verbs.
Here is a Example.

Wizards

Wizards is a game that originated in Russia.

Equipment  Needed:

15 or more people that want to play this game, and a boundary.

Steps on how to play

  1. Pick 3-5 people that want to be the taggers. They are called wizards.

  1. The wizards have to try and tag the non wizards by tapping them gently on the shoulder  (The non wizards are the people that aren't Wizards).

  1. When the non wizards get tagged by the wizards, they stand where they got tagged and yell ‘Chai Chai Chai’ while standing in a star shape.

  1. When one of the nontaggers survives without getting tagged, they can save the other non wizards that got tagged by touching them on the shoulder which means they are free.

  1. If the non wizards survive without getting tagged, then they win the round, but if the wizards tag all the non wizards before the time, then they win the

round.

  1. The maximum time of a round is about 15 - 30 minutes.

Summary

That’s how you play Wizards. It’s a nice and fun way of getting fit, I hope you enjoy this game with your friends.

Waikowhai Primary Toolkits

Toolkits At School

Kia ora everyone, this is another blog post about the toolkits we had at school. The toolkits that we had at school was based on S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math's) week. We had two presenter in each of the twelve toolkits. Before we had the toolkits, we had a Google form to fill in on our chrome books. the google form we filled was about what we wanted to do for stem week on Friday. I wanted to have a go at the spheros, Webcam toy, and Drones, but unfortunately we had to pick something else because someone banged one of the drones into a wall and the all of a sudden,  the rest of them turned off, so I picked Incredibox.

1. Spheros

My first stop was at the hall where the Spheros were waiting for me. We were introduced by Caleb and Morgan (they were the presenters of this toolkit). After the introduction, we were told to get into groups of four. After we got into groups of four we then got one of our chrome books, went on the bar down below, then clicked on one of the icons that had blue in the background with a white ball that is going fast. We had to use one of the new chrome books because the old chrome books does not have the icon. We got to play with the spheros and we tried to make it jump.

2. Webcam Toy

After Morning Tea, my second stop was still in the hall, but doing Webcam Toy with my two friends presenting, Daiki and Dustine. After the presentation, we got alot of time to have a play on the site where we could take photos with different types of grids. I had so much fun playing on Webcam Toy, I didn't even realize we had finished.

3. Incredibox

For Incredibox, the Toolkit was presented by Lily and Kiani. After the presentation, we also got to have a go at making our own music by clicking and dragging the icons to one of the humans, which makes the human make a beat.

That day felt so relaxing that I wish it could never end.
